If you visit Argentina you cannot miss Esquel. The city doesn’t have a lot, but the area is fantastic. If I could, I would go back every summer.
I've been in Puerto Madryn twice in my life, and the second time was the best.
La Tosca Hostel in Puerto Madryn … La Tosca, with its open courtyard and kitchen/lounge was an excellent place to mingle with other travelers. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Although not extremely roomy, accommodations were more than adequate, with big lockers, and very clean rooms. I would certainly stay here again!
HI - Puerto Madryn - El Gualicho Hostel in Puerto Madryn … I stayed there last year for just two days and it lived up to my expectations, as all they say on their Web site is true. The rooms are clean, warm and safe, there's a cozy common room to hang out, and the staff are really helpful. They sell a couple of excursions, which is great if you turn up there without having much idea of what to do once you're on the Peninsula. On the other hand, I didn't see much of a social life.
Hostel Viajeros in Puerto Madryn … I stayed for a little less than a week in Hostel Viajeros with two friends and it was really great! The people who work there are young, the atmosphere is really welcoming, and the price is really cheap, too! A great place to stay when visiting Puerto Madryn!
