Cozy, friendly, and fun.
Very nice and helpful staff. Free internet which was also fast. Decent location so you could get to a restaurant or the train station quickly. Nice showers. I would stay here again.

This place is more like sleeping over at a mate's apartment than a hostel. It has a great communal atmosphere, and the host (Chubba?) has to be the friendliest host I've met on my European travels. Great stuff, guys!

Everything about ths place is great. Anything I needed the staff could help me with. This could be the best place I have ever stayed at. All around, I had a great time.

This is easily one of the best hostels for atmosphere that I've ever stayed at. The Internet access was usable and always on, the place was clean and well-maintained, and it was near the main ring road and cheap local food. (I strongly recommend langos cuisine if you haven't tried it!)

I visited this hostel in summer of 2004. During the busy summer months I booked a reservation four days ahead from another city. I was lucky to find this place, as it was the ONLY hostel with any availability that I could find in Budapest. I was relieved to be able to make a reservation ahead of time! However, upon arriving, the hostel director informed me that they had given away my reservation. I had booked two nights, and I was told that the first night he would find another hostel in town for me to stay, but that I could come back the second night, which I had reserved. I waited around in the kitchen for ten minutes before I finally had to approach him in the office. He then told me that I could not stay the second night either, as that had also been given away. I was very disturbed about the communication from the hostel management. Not only did they not seem to care very much about my situation, but they left me hanging while I tried to decipher what they were talking about. They spoke perfect English, but the way they handled the situation was poor and disrespectful. It was bad enough they gave away my reservations, but to leave me standing there in the kitchen like a fool was so rude! What did they think I was standing there for? All this after walking in the hot summer sun all the way from the subway stop with a heavy backpack. I was furious! Lastly, while I was there, I got a good look at the place. It's very small and cramped, and the refrigerator desperately needed to be cleaned out. Needless to say, I would never recommend this place, not with other, more friendly places in Budapest.

This hostel is easily one of the nicest I've been to in Europe. It was easy to get to, in a very good location, and had amazingly nice staff. In fact, the manager came out and clubbed with us, bought me a beer, and ate junkfood with us! Chubba was a great guy. It was very laid back, small, and a perfect place to meet great people! Many solo backpackers were there, and the place had good character.

The Aboriginal hostel is crap! I had booked a double room 3 months in advance and called to confirm our reservation twice. When I showed up they had given away our room and sent two girls out on the streets of Budapest at 1:30 AM with a map and directions to a dirty hostel. Don't make a reservation at this hostel as they'll screw you over.
