A cheap solution to stay near Lyons or going down the Rhone Valley I stayed twice in Vienne youth hostel. First time to go down to Marseilles coming from Paris (jan.'06). Second time to stay in Lyons (dec.'06). Small dormitories (four or six beds) with few people sleeping. No breakfast. Closing time at 8 p.m. sharp. so don't be late. Rather old but very clean house. Sanitaries ok -- clean toilets and showers on each floor. Rather cheap (about 9 euros a night with a YHA membership card). An excellent place to have a night when you stay in Lyons -- only twenty minutes by train from Lyons' City Centre, far cheaper and more available than Lyons' hostels. A good way to when you stop to go down to the South of France -- Vienne is both reachable by A7 motorway and N7 expressway.
