5  One of the two best hostels in France Of the sixty-plus HI hostels I have visited in France, this hostel is the best. If arriving after 6 p.m., be sure to get the entrance code to the Citadel in advance.  , england ()
5  Wonderful hostel and what a location! The hostel is located inside the Citadelle, the town's castle. It has been recently done-up and is very smart. It is like an outbuilding among the castle's towers and open grass. The kitchen is very well equipped, all shiny stainless steel and huge implements. Big fridge, three sinks. Six hobs on the stove. The oven is difficult to work but there is a microwave. The bathrooms are also good, four showers in cubicles with plenty of space to move. The floor does get rather wet though. There is one huge dormitory and several smaller rooms. The bunk beds are new and shiny and stable. They provide one blanket, one sheet, and one pillowcase. Breakfast is not provided but the town's supermarket and bakeries are five minutes away. The actual Citadelle is great. There is no Keep, but there are smaller towers to explore for free and possibly have evening picnics in when the tourists have left. Though some bits are dangerously unfenced! But I liked that. The hostel owner is very friendly and constantly smiling. She speaks English.  , England ()
