The Hostelz.com Review
Art-Hostel truly lives up to its name, as staying here feels like living in something between a nightclub and a modern art museum. Once here you'll see it’s a three-story house that's been converted into a hostel and has everything the traveler could want in a hostel, from a full kitchen to laundry facilities. It is a truly friendly and comfortable place to stay!
The Location
The hostel is located on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood and is about fifteen minutes' walking time from the train and bus station. It’s pretty easy to find your way here from the arrow signs pointing the way on every corner. You’ll find small food stores two minutes away and a mall with a supermarket about twelve minutes away by foot.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms are relatively clean and spacious enough, beds are average quality. One of the dorms in the rear of the basement is covered in blue nylon fabric, making the walls into rounded edges, and with a lamp (no lampshade) in the center of the room. There are no locks on the doors for the rooms or security lockers in the rooms. Wireless internet is in every room and it works well with a good signal, but it’s painfully slow loading pages.
The bathroom in the basement feels a little strange as it’s a tiled room (artistically done) with a shower hose in the sink, a drain in the middle of the floor, and a shower curtain in the center that seems to have no practical functionality other than artistic design.
Common Spaces
The common room space is the highlight here! With a pool table, large sunny windows, outside picnic table, and outside terrace on the second floor, one word says it all -- comfortable! In addition to this there is are also peach, pear, and cherry trees growing in the backyard so feel free to help yourself to a variety of fresh- picked fruit.
Summary
Art-Hostel is a great place to stay. Most of the dorms, which are located in the basement, are very quiet (and funky). This is a good place to get plenty of rest at night or during the day. The hostel is a step above the average -- a good choice!

Great Stay One of the best hostels I ever stayed — Amelie , France (2009-03-19)

The place to stay in Skopje This place is very basic and by far not the best hostel I've stayed at, as far as rooms (three stars) and bathrooms (one stars) are concerned. But for Skopje I think it's the best place to stay. A little hard to find. It's quite new, so even taxidriver don't know where it is yet (but they call somewhere and find out, so don't worry!) But once your there, the location (five stars) is good and it's very colorful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful (five stars). If you're here during wintertime, you might want to ask for a room upstairs. I was in the basement and it was really cold. Best thing about this place, you don't only get breakfast included but dinner as well (very good stew five stars)! There is a nice living room area (five stars) and free internet! — Kathrin , Switzerland (2009-03-08)
