Description
Hostel Bekuo - Matapalo is the only true hostel on the entire Osa Peninsula. Located in the small community of Matapalo, 18 kilometers from Puerto Jimenez on the extreme southern tip of the Osa Peninsula, which National Geographic has dubbed 'the most bio-diverse place on the planet'.
We have a small hostel here, surrounded by the thick rain forest that is synonymous with the Osa Peninsula. While you are here you will see monkeys by the dozens, wild turkeys, Lapas, Owls, butterflies by the dozens and if you're really lucky a panther. In the waters, just 75 meters from the house, you may see dolphins and humpback whales just off shore.
The hostel has no electricity, no phones and no internet. There are solar panels to provide basic light in the evening for reading. So if you're looking for a place to become totally unplugged and enjoy life, this is the place to visit.
The hostel is located in between Matapalo Beach and Backwash, and about a 7 minute walk from Pan Dulce, three of Costa Rica's top surf breaks. If you're here to surf there's no place that's beatable.
