The close proximity to beautiful areas of Hangzhou, west of the lake. We were surrounded by greenery and the little nearby community was friendly.

Location near temples and West Lake, staff offered us free food one evening. No traffic althoug construction site and barking dogs nearby. Restaurants and grocery stores near.

It is in a nice setting away from the hustle and busle of the city as it is in the mountain. The internet is fast but only one computer so you may have to wait a while and you will need to wrap up as the front doors are kept open all the time.

It was quiet. I woke up to a dawn chorus and a cockerel crowing! There were no cars or motorways nearby; definitely a far cry from my home in Shanghai! If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is it.

It was located far from the West Lake and other tourist attractions (although it was close to the Lingyin temple), also very difficult to find. I was supposed to be in a four bed room, but they put me in a 6 bed room, and at midnight, when I was trying to get some sleep, they had apparently over-booked and so they set up 2 cots in the middle of the room. It ended up being an 8 bed room.
