2 Cute but boring
The staff at the hostel was not very helpful at all. Upon arrival they provided no advice about what to see, transportation, and did not even have a map to give us. The common room is just a couple of tables which do not even begin to seat all of the guests at breakfast time. The breakfast was not very good - a completely dried out baguette and croissant - but could be salvaged by eating cereal and drinking juice. The common bathrooms available for guests during lockout times are FILTHY - they do not seem to be able to flush and are constantly plugged and overflowing and are WAY to gross to even use. There is a daily lockout for cleaning but I don't think the bathroom in our room was cleaned more than once during our four day stay. The bunk beds are very flimsy and rock and creak with anyones slightest move. There is no social atmosphere to this hostel whatsoever and you are not even allowed to bring in outside alcohol so it is a completely dry hostel. The decor is pretty cool however and it seemed clean regarding sheets and rooms and such. Also the location was good because it is right by two metro stations, a bank, cheap food options, a grocery store, and you can walk to the river if you are feeling ambitious.

3 OK... quiet
We had a four person room with a private bathroom, the breakfast (included in the price) was the best we'd had, and the internet was free. However, it wasn't a good place to meet people -- it's a remodeled hotel so there are a lot of small rooms that hold four people. There's no kitchen to speak of (there's an area where they prepare breakfast but I don't think guests are allowed to use it) and the staff aren't very helpful. Also it's expensive and out water pressure was awful. Overall, it wasn't a particularly fun place, so if you're looking for a hostel where you're going to meet other people and hang out in the common room in the evening, I'd go elsewhere.

1 Oops is right
This place was a nightmare. It started off ok, until our third day when our roommate had her mp3 player stolen. The four-hour lockout gives thieves a great chunk of time to rob you blind, as the cleaning staff props all the doors wide open. When she confronted the management she was told that Her roommates had stolen it (not true, as we were friends); She had lost it and blamed it on them; She had stolen it from herself and sold it on the street; Her roommates had stolen it and sold it on the street; She left the window open and someone climbed the side of the building and stole it (we were on the fourth floor with no balcony). The manager and her bimbo sidekick absolutely refused to acknowledge that her cleaning people might have taken it. She screamed in our faces, insulted us in French and would not even interview her staff to see if one of them had seen anything. She also insisted that she should have kept it in the communal safe in the lobby -- a fair point, until we later met a girl whose plane ticket and 1000 euros had been stolen out of the same safe. The decor is cute, the location not so bad, and the free breakfast and Wi-Fi tempting. But your belongings are not safe. Not to mention you're giving your money to a bunch of people who don't care about you or your happiness during your stay.

1 Awful
Six friends and I went to Paris for a hen weekend and stayed at this hostel for two nights from 2nd may to 4th may 2008. On arrival at the hostel one of the staff informed us that we would be able to stay for the first night and not for the second because apparently we did not book our rooms in the correct way! We emailed the hostel (at there request as we were a group) back in December they confirmed our booking for (two four-bed dorms) and we paid a deposit. We again emailed two days before booking and they also confirmed the reservation. The staff at the hostel were not at all apologetic and actually were very rude. When we spoke to the manager they informed us that other than finding a new hostel/hostel to stay for the two nights we were able to have a four-bed dorm and double room with a mattress on the floor). If we were to find a new hostel/hotel they informed us that they would not give back out deposit. Again there were no apologies. We went out for the day expecting the mattress to be ready in the double room when we arrived back in the evening and of course it wasn't and had to ask them to place a mattress on the floor in the double room. The member of staff was again unhelpful. We were all determined to make the most of the weekend depsite the rocky start so we went out in the evening and came back to the hostel at approximately 12:30 a.m. None of us had any sleep during the night due to a group of school children knocking on people's doors, ringing the phones, and just generally being very noisy. The next morning there was no hot water and of course following a night of no sleep none of us were in particularly good moods. When we went to reception we informed the member of staff and again we had no apologies! We went out for day, came back to the hostel to discover the bathroom had not been cleaned and the shower mat (which was soaking from the shower on the previous night) was not changed. When i asked for a new mat and whether there was any hot water the member of staff was again extremely unhelpful and just shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes. Following a lovely evening out we arrived back at the hostel to find a group of school children (under age) drinking alcohol and having what seemed like a party with loud music in the breakfast area. One of the rules in the hostel was that alcohol was not permitted on the premises (lots of signs placed on the walls in the hostel and breakfast area particularly) and when we approached the member of staff at reception he said that he could not do anything. We were obviously concerned that again we would not get any sleep. This hostel was in good location, however the staff at this hostel were unapologetic, had poor customer service, and tried to make out that we had not booked the hostel correctly despite the fact we had (via email as requested on their website!). If anyone is considering staying at this hostel, then don't.

4 Good
The hostel is really new, clean with a kind English/Spanish/French speaking staff and very convenient location (very close to two metro stations). The reservation made by internet was valid on my arrival. However if you arrive in the morning you have to wait till 4 p.m. to enter your room (cleaning from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) leaving your luggage in the special room (that however is not closed and nobody checks if you take your bag or not). You have a magnetic card to enter the room and the front door is opened in the night by the staff at reception. The rooms are small and there are no lockers or shelves, so you have to keep you things in a bag. The shower with hot water and toilet in the room are clean and nice. The is also a hairdryer! The breakfast is ok! There are three pc for internet connection (free) and Wi-Fi if you have your laptop! So it is a good place to stay. Four stars because someone (staff or visitors?) took my own towel that I left on my bed.
