1 Worst experience ever
We booked eight nights in a bathroom with private bathroom. During this time we had several setbacks. Cockroaches in the room (three nights) -- big size. The cleaning lady bakes cakes at 3 a.m. (no kidding!). Lots of noise. We didn't have hot water in the room. Although we had a private bathroom -- we had to use the shared bathroom. After we complained the hostel's answer was that they charge the same for rooms with private and shared bathroom. At 6 a.m. the landlady cleans the floor shouting with the guard. At 8 a.m. the hostel gets quiet again. We didn't have a blanket in a cold night. We thought that the hostel would take some responsibility and we asked some kind of compensation for all the troubles. They made a discount of R$30 out of R$1000. No kidding! I would not recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to enjoy his/her stay in Rio!
