Aguara House Suites & Hostel

Aguara House Suites & Hostel is in an ideal location for getting to the magnificent falls. This is the main reason why anyone visits Puerto Iguazu, so location is important.

The Location

Outside, you will find a main road with local buses that will take you direct to the falls, but it also means a lot of noise, which does not really get much quieter through the night. That being said, the hostel itself is quiet and supermarkets and eateries are very close by. The hostel even offers an in-house menu where one of the local eateries will deliver the food to your door at a discounted price.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are a variety of rooms on offer, from larger dorms down to private double bedrooms. Door locks are secure and lockers are available. The hostel will hold your luggage for you for free if you arrive early or leave late. Bathrooms are satisfactory in number and quality, although the showers are a little cold. There is space to change and hooks and shelves to hang up your clothes. Rooms are also cleaned at regular intervals.

Common Spaces

Common spaces take the form of a combined dinner and TV room is next to the kitchen. You can watch free DVDs or cable TV, and play board games. You can use the desktop computer in reception for free, although time is limited (Wi-Fi is available as well). Although quite a cosy hostel, there does not seem to be much opportunity to interact with fellow guests.

Summary

Overall, you cannot go far wrong if you choose this hostel. The staff obviously prefer to speak Spanish, but can converse in English and communicate effectively. Guests can book tours of the fall direct from the hostel as well as transport to the airport at a discounted price, which is very handy. Breakfast is also provided, which is generally a plus, but expect the bare minimum in terms of choice and standard.
