Traveller's Haven

The Location

Half-hidden in the residential side of Bled, Traveller's Haven offers down-to-earth hospitality and respite from local tourism. The hostel is within walking distance to bars, restaurants, and St. Martin's Church at the base of Bled Castle. The bus station is five hundred metres away from the hostel -- walk up the hill on the left-hand side and turn left when you see Mercator supermarket on the opposite side. Reception is separate from the main building and parking is available. Pick-ups can be arranged by phone or email.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The dorms and private room are kitted out with quality linens, comfortable mattresses, ample pillows, thick duvets, and towels. The only rule is that you must make your own bed. There are safety deposit boxes and lockable doors in every room. Luggage can be left at reception if required. There are enough clean showers in the bathroom to keep the morning queues nice and short. Hot water is always available and the shower pressure is excellent. While there are hooks only large enough to hang towels, there are no lack of shelves to keep your gear dry.

Common Spaces

There is a spacious common area with flat-screen television, a DVD player with a selection of movie titles, and a cushy lounge to relax with new friends. Stacks of brochures on Bled and activities are scattered around the vicinity. There is one computer terminal with a speedy internet but no Wi-Fi. Connecting to the common room is a small outdoor terrace overlooking the residential district and a sliver of Lake Bled. The kitchen is well-equipped with shiny pots and pans, cutlery, stacks of plates, bowls, and mugs. Breakfast is not included. There is a dishwashing machine to do the dirty job, so hand washing dishes is not permitted. This creates a happy and social time for the guests to partake in drinking, chilling, and free laundry.

As if the free laundry and drying isn't enough, the staff at Traveler's Haven know how to make everyone's stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. They offer plenty of advice on how to make use of your time in Bled, whether it is a summer or winter retreat. This hostel is a home away from home.
