Great place with free soup and a free spa
the dorm i stayed in, the sheets and duvet were changed every time someone left. I found the staff great and the hostel very clean.

Loved it -- clean and friendly, love the spa!
one of the best hostels ive stayed at. been travelling oz for two years and just got to new zealand. and if all hostels are like city oasis i'll stay again. the staff are very friendly and a great atmosphere.

Dirty, disgusting, disappointing -- Recommend Avoiding!
This hostel was highly disappointing, especially as it had been recommended to us by someone who had stayed there. Upon initial impression we were very happy with the size and layout of the room but on closer inspection found the bathroom and linen to be covered in clumps of long hair. Seriously, think about it, your bathroom and linen was covered in someone else's hair! Furthermore, the fridge in our room was not working and left the most putrid smell in the room. We discussed these issues with management who took no interest in our concerns whatsoever! There are plenty of better hostels in Christchurch to stay at -- avoid City Oasis at all costs!
