SURPRISE - NO, we are NOT LOCATED in Copacabana and not in Ipanema.

We are located in SANTA TERESA, one of Rio's oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods where the bondinho (the last tram in Rio, more than 100 years old) is still working.
5 minutes walking distance from LAPA where the REAL SAMBA CLUBS are and where Rio's coolest night life taking place (want to see some real dancing and live shows? you better come here, don't tell us you came all the way to Brazil to go to the disco…)
Another 5 minutes from LAPA (walking) is the DOWN TOWN- and what a down town !!! markets, clubs, shops, museums, just waiting for you to be explore.

'The term 'hostel' does not do this place justice. This term should be replaced by the word 'home' as this is exactly how I was made to feel, completely at home.'

Neil Bailey - guest/friend/backpacker - Rio Hostel,2003.

4 Great place - friendly staff, very hospitable. They even brought in an extra bed as we had one too many people than available beds. There are some good little bars up the road worth exploring and not far from town. This hostel is a good option for it's location/price and facilities (looooove that swimming pool!).

4 Nice place and staff, they make you feel at home. The only problem is the area, very cosy but dificult to reach specially at night. If you don't want to spend money in taxis choose a place down the hill.
