The King is located near downtown in Rio de Janeiro, between Gloria and Catete neighborhood. You can go downtown on foot. We are next to the famous Flamengo Park, the biggest urban park in the world, offering several attractions for the visitors. Some of them are the Soldier´s Monument ( from the World War II ) MAM- Modern of Art Museum, Gloria Navy… The park has cycle and jogging ways, connecting Gloria to Leblon , going along Flamengo, Botafogo, Leme, Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon Beaches. From only one block, the visitor can visit Catete Palace. Getulio Vargas President’s house, he was one of the most famous Brazilian Presidents during the Republic period fron 1897 to l960. So, you can travel to the past and know a little bit of our history. The Palace has beautiful gardens too. Near the inn the visitor has a rich trade (supermarkets, restaurants, snack bars, drugstores, money exchange, banks, etc). Besides you can go every place in the town by subway the station. The station is near too.

2 star the hostel has no lockers and you are not issued with a key to lock your door. after having my bag stolen from my room i would not advise anyone to stay there as the staff are also rude. — thiago davis , london. (2010-01-25)
