Hostelz.com's Review
Kale Guesthouse is a family-run guesthouse, which offers both private rooms and dorm rooms, with either a shared or private bathroom.

The Location

Kale Guesthouse is located on one of the main roads in Pamukkale, surrounded by several mini markets, shops, and restaurants. The entrance to the travertines and the historic ruins are only a few minutes' walk from the guesthouse. The guesthouse is fairly easy is find, however if you're unsure, any of the local people working in one of the restaurants or shops should be able to point you in the right direction. The guesthouse is located only a few minutes' walk from the bus stops to other nearby towns and cities.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are spacious, with either private or shared bathrooms. Bathrooms include hot-water showers, and some rooms also have a bathtub. Toilets are Western style, no squat toilets, however toilet paper must be placed in the bin, not in the toilet bowl. Small towels as well as linen are provided. Most rooms have air conditioning and windows.

Common Spaces

Kale Guesthouse also owns a restaurant, which is located on the ground floor of the building. There are a few couches, tables, and chairs which can be used, as well as a communal computer with internet; overall, however, there are only limited communal areas for guests to meet people. Wi-Fi is complimentary, and is available throughout the building. A Turkish breakfast, consisting of tea or coffee, boiled egg, fruit, cheese, and meat, is included in the room/dorm rate, and is served in the restaurant area. The guesthouse also provides information about the local attractions, including maps and brochures, as well as information about onward travel. The reception area is also twenty-four-hour. The guesthouse and attached restaurant provides most information in English, Turkish, Japanese, and Korean.

Kale Guesthouse provides exactly what it states -- no more, no less. It is a good budget option for visitors wanting to spend a day or two in the area, with an ideal location and sufficient facilities. The guesthouse however does not have a social vibe, with very limited communal areas -- if you're traveling solo and wanting to meet other travelers, another nearby, more lively guesthouse or hostel maybe better suited for you.

2   You get what you pay for ... I guess you get what you pay for, the place was very cold and the bathrooms were horrible. But everyone was very friendly, next time I will spend a few extra bucks and go somewhere else.  , USA ()
4   Good The location was the best, just 3 minutes on foot from the travertine pools, the staff was really friendly and the breakfast was great. The shower was too small, and the water pressure was not that good.  , Colombia ()
