Our Happy Travel Guest House was established in summer 2006. Unemployment is a main problem in Ulaanbaatar, but small-scale tourism could provide a good opportunity for local people, that are why we've decided to run our own business.

My wife and I had a great stay at Happy Travel guesthouse in Ulaanbaatar, and would like to recommend this place to other travellers. The hostel owner met us at the trainstation when we arrived and drove us to the station when we left. We had a nice and clean room. They were very serviceminded and helpful during our stay and they also arranged a trip to their campsite in the mountains, east of the city. The campsite is a nice hotel close to the Djengis Khan monument and to a river where it's possible to go fishing in the summer.

Extremely helpful owners that live in the same apartment as the hostel is located in. We got a private room although it was listed as a dorm on hostelbookers. The owners arrange tours and can even come with you on those. They also met us at the train station when we arrived and drove us to the apartment/hostel.

This is a couple's private apartment and they rent out 2 rooms. They're really nice and helpful--driving us to the train station and even getting our luggage into our compartment! The apartment is quiet and has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. This wouldn't be a place to meet other backpackers, but it's a great option if you're a couple or business traveler and don't want to stay in a crowded hostel. It's a 15 minute walk or short bus ride into the city center, but there are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, too. Just note that it's impossible to find this place by yourself, so be sure to arrange pick-up.

The best place to stay in Ulaanbaatar!!!! This is not the typical crowded hostel full of smelly backpackers. It is a confortable and well equipped apartment next to the train station. The place is simple, as I like, but have it has all the things a traveler need. The best of all are the owners, a local couple. They are incredible amazing, helpful, and, very friendly. It is obvious they enjoy they work and they are not chasing you to sell excursions, like other places ... even if they have a very beautiful camp located in Teroko National Park that is very good. (Highly recommended.) I stay for several days and me and fellow travelers love it. My stay was great and I didn't want to leave the place because I feel home. A good hostel is more than adequate installations and luxe, if I want luxury, it have better to stay in an expensive hotel, and Usually, I am able to afford it. This is a combination of intimate guesthouse with roommates It is a place you want to feel home, the owners are such great people that I feel them like family after few days. We still in contact and I hope to visit them soon. Mongolia is not an easy place to travel, even when locals are great people. The owners of this hostel are the most amazing Mongolians you can meet. They will do whatever to make your stay a happy one!!! I was glad I did not stay in an impersonal place. finally, for travelers with bottom end budget, the prizes were real bargain!! Please use their pick up service, it is cheap, I recommend it because this place is a well keep secret, it is not easy to find for yourself even when the location is next to the train station, restaurants and the city center. — Jean , italy (2012-01-22)
