Damascus Rooms Reviews on Other Websites
5 Owner - Mr Bayan - was the most helpful, accommodating, friendly person we've met. What an excellent way of being introduced to the famed Syrian hospitality! He showed us how to get to the main attractions in Damascus, and made triple sure that we knew how to get to the apartment before leaving us. Also, my partner was sick when we were in Damascus, and he took such good care of us - Mr. Bayan was amazing. The apartment was also very clean [freshly laundered sheets, towels, blankets] and comes equipped with laundry facilities, bath, kitchen [!!] and lounge room. If we return to Damascus, we're definitely staying there again!   — Customer review (2011-03-28) Hostelbookers
5 Bayan is the owner and a very nice man. He rents apartments in Damascus and we got a really cosy small room just outside of the old city. Bayan showed us the best places in the neighbourhood. The cool thing about his apartments is that you really feel like a Syrian local, because you actually live there, not in a hostel, but in a real house. And the extra good thing: if you have any question, you can also ask/mail/call Bayan and he will help you right away. Thanks for giving us a wonderful time! Best regards, Patrick & Elise, Amsterdam, Holland.   — Patrick Stastra (2011-02-06) Hostelbookers

4 The owner completely understood the needs of somebody like myself who was unfamiliar both with the country and the language and he made himself available to answer any question you might have.   — Simon Marciniak (2010-10-22) Hostelbookers
4 Location was about 10 minutes walk from the old city, very quiet, no street noise and yet centrally located. Air con worked perfectly. Its in a small building with a courtyard and feels like you have your own apartment rather than staying in a hotel. The privacy was wonderful after hostels.   — Rachel Lewis (2010-10-14) Hostelbookers
5 The location is very good. Walk to the old city 10 minutes and very nice togo to a shopping street in the evening 5 minutes walk from the hotel.   — DIANA OOSTERHOF (2010-10-10) Hostelbookers
5 We stayed in the flat which had all facilities and view. Mr Bayan Bahlak was very helpful. For information about the white minibuses pop in the little grocer shop next to the flat where Ahmed was very helpful.   — Customer review (2010-10-03) Hostelbookers

5 The accomodation was located in the city at a central location with all the buzz and activities at a stone's throw distance. Despite this, it was very quite once you are inside the apartment and you could relax without getting disturbed.   — Customer review (2010-09-15) Hostelbookers
5 I liked the person that administrates the place, he was very helpful, hospitable and kind.   — Ancuta Huzum (2010-09-02) Hostelbookers
3 The owner is very nice, it's perfect if you want to cook by yourself. You can have a big flat.   — Luca Ricci (2010-08-29) Hostelbookers
Clean and large app. with AC/boiler/washing machine, everything you need.it is a little far (25 min walk) from the old city but cabs are cheap;don't pay over 50 pounds during the day and 100 at night. internetcafe (open 24/7)and great kebabshop around the corner. be sure to call bayan to bring you to the apartment, it's hard to find and he is really nice and helpfull! ask him to write down the name of the nearby mosque in arabic to show to cabdrivers (they won't know the street)would definitely stay there again!   — Linda, Netherlands (2009-11-05) Hostelsclub
'Damascus rooms' of budget quality, reasonably well maintained, hotel staff were helpful. Owner was nice, he gave us a room upgrade for a day. Breakfast would cost you extra SP 300 pp at nearly Al Majed Hotel & Al Faris Hotel which are located adjacent seemingly belonging to same owner.Location is central, but surroundings deserve attention.   — Mohamed, India (2009-10-19) Hostelsclub
