The Hostelz.com Review
Tranquil Lodge is a hostel that doesn't really look like an hostel from outside (more likely looks like a house) but inside has everything you require from it. It's not exactly the "full-of-people" hostel, the location is quiet and the owner is really helpful if you just ask. There's a phone in the living room which you can call directly the owner with to ask about anything you want (for free, of course).

The Location

The place is just fifteen minutes' walking from the city centre, in a very quiet area and five minutes' walking to the closest supermarket and shopping and dining area. If you come from the airport, the shuttle bus will drop you right in front of the door for a fee. Bus is outside of the door.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There is a lot of room to move into the sleeping rooms and no bunk beds, just normal ones. The rooms are all at the ground floor, so no stairs. There are no in-room lockers and you use a normal key to open the door. Mattresses are really bad -- too, too, too soft and make you sleep not well. You don't have any hooks or shelves to put your cloths. Showers and toilets are ok, toilets are really clean.

Common Spaces

Kitchen is pretty tidy and clean, but probably a bit small if many people need to cook. There's a big multipurpose room with a long table for eating or just playing some games, a pool, two computers to connect to internet (not free), and an automatic food machine. There's also the phone to call the owner for free, and also all the local calls are free. It's a bit empty so it's hard to say how people are, but in general it's nice and quiet. It's definitely not a party hostel and many people actually live there.

Summary

If you are looking for fun, many people, and parties, have a look for another place. If you want instead a quiet place to spend a couple of nights, it's probably the place for you and if you plan to visit the city it's a good compromise between distance and noise.
