Opened in June 2007, B&W is located in the center of Lisbon, in the 1st floor of a 19th century residential building reconverted in an Art house.
B&W is located near Avenida da Liberdade, between two metro stations ( Marquês de Pombal and Rato), close to Aerobus stop and many other buses. Walking distance to Bairro Alto and Baixa.
We provide clean and modern commodities (comfortable beds, hot showers 24 hours, kitchen for guests, lockers, two big common rooms and internet) as well as inside information on Lisbon. Age limit of 35
Last but not the least, and although our high standards, B&W is the Cheapest hostel in Lisbon!

Im Jan christensen from Denmark. I have travelled a lot, and been in many hostels,but Black and White beats them all. The atmosphere here is fantastic,warm,friendly, i actually felt like a member of a big family,it was amazing. If you have any problem the staff would do everything to help you.
Another great thing is the breakfast,from 8.00 am to 11 am..fresh bread and fruits,just the best way to start a day..Black and white hostel is 5 min walk to centrum and if you need anything theres a store 100 m from the Hostel. I really recommend Black and white hostel..it was great! see you in 2012 you made my stay fantastic..;-) Jan (Denmark)

Truly friendly staff (extremely accomodating and with useful information) and very chill atmosphere in the common room. Full, well-equipped kitchen. Nice free breakfast. Internet and wifi worked well. Very good price for value ($8.50 a night in 14 people dorm). And the hostel is not too big which makes it not too crowded in common areas and easy to get to know others.

too much noise in the late night...sometimes people makes loud until 3 o' clock in the morning and nobody of the staff try to keep them calm

Great place. Well decorated & designed. Very comfy and cheap! You wouldn't believe it was so cheap if you saw the place. Quiet atmosphere but there werent many ppl there when we stayed. Really great hostel.

The rooms were sweet and there are paintings everywhere that are really cool. The staff was very helpful and cool, they all seemed to be great people. You get more than you paid for. When I go back to Portugal I will be staying at Black and White and I suggest you do to.

I loved the location, so close to everything. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Showers were amazing compared to past hostels we've stayed in. Breakfast was great and I really enjoyed the stay.

Good location and totally worthy staying there. We had paid to stay in a 14-bed room, but there was a problem with our booking and it was full, so we were stayed in a 4-bed room without paying anything :)
