The Hostelz.com Review
Abisko Fjaltürer is an amazing hostel right in the middle of it all. This place offers not only a base camp for those exploring the adjacent Abisko National Park in the heart of Swedish Lapland, but also a warm and welcoming place for tired travelers.

There are four rooms, two with two beds and two with six beds each. They're in a cozy log cabin that's very well decorated. The owners run the place and tend to hostelers and are helped by Orjan, an amazing person who's ready to help you with any issues you might run into. From a torn backpack to a way to figure out the bus schedule, he's always there for you.

The kitchen is big and has all the appliances you'd expect, and plenty of dishes and kitchenware. There is also a sauna, for free, and the owners, brothers Tomas and Andreas, organize dogsled rides during winter and summer season. There is only one bathroom, with a shower, but it's big and always clean. You can also shower in the sauna. There is an excellent supermarket and supply store on the other side of the rail tracks and also a equipment store on the petrol station. They're usually open until 6 p.m.

If coming by train, go straight to the left on the rail tracks till you come to the crossing path. You'll see the sign "Dog Camp" on your left and a big red house with a dog drawn on the façade. By car, from E10, after the entry to Abisko Ö, get the first street to your right and follow it until you cross the rail tracks. Then, go left until you reach the red house with the dog on the side. Note that most buses to Abisko only run during peak season (November to February in winter and late May to August in summer).
