Awesome Place! It is very busy during the Summer, but a nice place to stay. Very close to the beach (there is a bar on the beach over Xmas with live music and drinks!). Hostel is always tidy and clean -- always someone cleaning! Very social environment, but they have signs up for a 10 p.m. quiet noise rule -- and one of the staff checks if you are making any noise after this time. But its ok because there are plenty of bars around -- many with big screens to watch sport! Will definitely come back! — Fernando , Brasil (2009-07-07)

Out of control The hostel is on the main strip and convenient to the area. The 10 p.m. quiet time was a joke. This place is a party place. Many times through the night we were awakened by rude, drunk kids trashing the kitchen in their munchie quest. — don falkenborg , USA (2008-12-17)

Relaxed, friendly, first choice for Mount Maunganui This is the smaller of the two backpackers in the Mount, but this one is better. Staff are friendly, they are closer to the beach, closer to the main shopping strip, and the environment is welcoming. I stayed in the nine-bed dorm, and it was particularly clean and tidy, the rest of the hostel was taken care of by the cleaner and by the three staff who clean it morning and night also. There is no curfew but they request noise be kept to a minimum after 10 p.m. This is a home away from home. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the Mount. — Sam , Australia (2008-01-29)
