Not what I expected
I was really disappointed with this hostel. I booked it because it had been receiving rave reviews, so was rather upset when I actually arrived at the hostel. The two bathrooms were rather dirty. Only one toilet worked. The hostel was rather difficult to find -- there are no big signs to indicate that you have actually found the place -- just a printed sheet on the main door, which is below street level. A guy at the neighbouring bar actually pointed it out to me (he told me I wasn't the first traveler to be wandering the streets looking for it). I ended up changing my reservation. I was supposed to stay there for three nights, but went elsewhere after the first night.

Really excellent hostel
This hostel is totally deserving to five stars, the location is terrific, at beautiful street very close to the center, and very easy to find, the staff is especially nice, the ambiance there is very good. everything is clean and comfortable, the breakfast is very tasty, the hostel is one of the best i have ever been.

Brilliant little city centre hostel
This is a very small city centre hostel of around about twenty beds. The staff were very friendly and gave me a brilliant low down of what to do and see in the city centre area. As it was my first time in edinburgh and I was traveling alone, it was great for me that the staff led most of the hostel out on a pub crawl on the nights that i was there. I got to meet loads of people there from all over the world which really surprised me, as you would think that there were not very many people to meet in small place. but there was a really laid back feeling in the hostel which actually made it ultra friendly. Good breakfast and free internet. All in all, i would definitely go back if i go back to edinburgh again. Top marks!
