Hostelz.com's Review
A large and accommodating hostel, HI - STF Malmö City Hostel has all the amenities of home. Though a little hard to find, it is strategically placed with easy access to the whole city.

The Location

As if Malmö is not already disorienting enough with its river that takes ninety-degree turns and folds back on itself, your hostel hunt doubles in fun as you try to find the YHA tucked away in a back alley. The best way to find it from the train station is to find the Tourist Information. Then, with the Tourist Info on your right and the station on your left, pass the buses, cross the river, and take an immediate right onto a main road Norra Vallgatan. At the end of the road, you will reach a giant park; turn left onto Slottsgatan, following the park’s edge until you reach another main road Regementsgatan. Cross this road and then count three left turns. The third turn is at a grocery store Handlarn; YHA-Malmö is on your first right turn behind the store.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The bedrooms are large and comfortable, with single and double beds and a table and chairs. The large windows even have curtains to add coziness. Bring your own linen (sleep sacs are allowed; sleeping bags are not) or rent some at reception. The hostel has a fleet of toilets and showers. The showers are large with plenty of space to leave your clothes and to change.

Common Spaces

The hostel is friendly and conducive to socializing, but you can also easily keep to yourself in one of the many tucked-away lounges. In addition to the large and well-equipped kitchen, there is a giant dining room (breakfast here is available for purchase), a lobby with a computer, a TV lounge, and reading lounges. Wi-Fi is free throughout the building. Whether chatting with new friends or reading a book, you will be comfortable!

Summary

YHA-Malmö is highly recommended for being relaxing, comfortable, and accommodating. Though it could be improved by adding a road sign or two, it otherwise is bordering on perfect.

4   Amazing My stay at the hostel was very nice and comfortable, i stayed only for one night, but the room was very clean, and the breakfast was up to the standards. I enjoyed every bit of the wireless internet, as well as the nice view to the street outside. it is location is also significant as it is very near the train station. i definitely recommend you to try it!  , age 25, Egypt ()
5   Definitely would come back I am fascinated cuz the staff is so very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere at the hostel is so calm and nice. It is really clean. There's free wifi. Bathrooms are clean as well. You can meet great people. You get a free map of Malmö when arriving and a a piece of advise what to visit. The location is just perfect. Near Triangeln station which is very convenient and the park as well. The atmosphere is just perfect. I really loved staying there and definitely want to go back one day. Love them all and love Sweden.  , age 21, Bulgaria ()
4   VERY GOOD PLACE TO STAY I have stayed thee for a few days but the services were excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful.  , age 30, GAMBIAN ()
4   Swedish style and cleanliness Everything here is brand new, very clean, and very efficiently run -- typical Swedish! There's individual electronic key card access to the rooms, a large well equipped guest kitchen, and a nice large outdoor common area for use when the weather is good. It's in a great location near the centre of Malmö city. The costs can soon mount up here, an extra 50 Kr if you're not a IYHF member, 50 Kr for bedlinen, and 60 Kr for breakfast. Although the breakfast is an excellent Swedish buffet and you can eat as much as you like! The only thing that does leave a bad taste here is that there is only one internet terminal. there's Wi-Fi but it's only available at a massive 60 Kr an hour. Ridiculous when most hostels offer it for free these days. Otherwise I would have given five stars. Still the best choice in Malmö.  , UK ()
5   Feels more like a hotel, clean and brand new, but can become expensive Made reservations over phone, got to Malmö at 11 p.m., doors are closed at 10 but you can call the code on the door and they'll open it for you. I wanted the cheapest bed, 180 Kr., since I wasn't a member I had to pay an extra 50 Kr. Then they asked if I had my own sheets, I said I have my sleeping bag, so they said no, sleeping bags are unhygienic, and I was charged another 50 Kr for bed sheets. Breakfast was another 60 Kr. On the bright side, there are plenty of toilets or showers around, which are very clean. The room was also very clean and quiet and bed was also comfortable. Breakfast was continental/swedish. Will stay there again but I'll take my own sheets. You could probably buy bed sheets from Ikea for 50 Kr!  , Iranian (Sweden) ()
5   Wonderful! Totally new -- there is everything you need! Free internet, beautiful kitchen with everything, clean big rooms, new showers, friendly staff, supermarket in the same building.  , Germany ()
