Terrasse Hostel is the perfect place! • The hostel is located in the heart of Ipanema, just one block from the beach and is very close to the many bars, nightclubs and the attractions of Rio! • Farme de Amoeda is known for being the party street of Ipanema and from the hostel you will find everything in walking distance. • We welcome backpackers from all over the world and all staff members are multi-lingual and incredibly friendly with immence knowledge of the area. • We offer dormitories, private rooms, douple and twin rooms with balconies that have a sea view. We offer tours including handgliding, to the maracana, city tours, tours of the favela and samba nights as well as having a laundry service, 24 hour reception, lockers, a place to keep your baggage, a kitchen you are able to cook your own meals in, free breakfast and internet access. • We'd like to invite you to come and stay at our place and make it your home - it's our home too! Terrasse Hostel is not just a hostel - it's a place where we work to make your dreams of Rio come true. We work 24 hours a day to make sure you're not just a customer in our place but also part of the Terrasse Hostel family. • Terrasse Hostel is located at Farme de Amoedo St # 35, in the corner with Prudente de Moraes St (At Plaza Hotel Street) close to post 9 at Ipanema Beach. • How to get there? • Coming from the Bus Station, such as Galeão Airport (GIG), it will be more easy you take that Real Bus, which come straight to Bus Station and passing through the south area (Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon). • Usually we pick you up wherever you are, just let us know if you want a transfer service from our Hostel.

Ugly, awful, stinky, dirty! Don't go to this awful place! 4 p.m. room was not ready, overall sand on the floor even they said it's clean, other peoples stuff and dust still there. Room stunk like somebody did pee on the corner of the room. No common room. Wash your face next to boys toilet. Shower not able to move. Dirty. "Breakfast" was 1 small and hard piece of bread, 1 jam, 1 cheap orange just racked with water, 1 coffee. Others got little cheese, we not. Not more. Small private locker just if you buy your own padlock. Moved after 1 day to another hostel, was not able to stay one more minute at this awful place which ruins your holidays! — Simone , Switzerland (2010-11-21)

Dirty, Tight, and Smelly. Basically in Very Poor Condition We arrived very late at this hostel and checked out early in the morning. Definitely not what we expected. The washrooms were less than two feet wide with chipwood plywood as doors and located right on the side of a set of stairs going up and down. The showers were so small you can't bend over and pick up soap without hitting your head on the walls. When we checked in, they had all day to get our sheets ready and they didn't have them ready. No AC, fan blows the smelly air all over you. Place smelt like mold. Wash basins were in the hallway, clientele frequently blew their nose in the sink and left it. — Christian , Canada (2009-04-06)

The people are very friendly ,and helpful, the location is also nice BUT I think the rooms are way too small! the bathroom isn't that great and I didn't see any breakfast! So I 'm sure there are better places out there! — Anonymous , Brazil/swiss (2008-05-27)

Genial! Superb! Everybody is twenty-four hours, seven days a week, three hundred-sixty days a year there to answer every question, you can ask about rio or brazil. They know where to party, to celebrate to discover rio from a side which normally a traveler or a tourist not is able to see, hear, or feel!
