Description

A new purpose-built lodge nestled under forested mountains. Closest backpackers to Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve, only 200m away. Motel/family rooms, ensuites, twins, doubles and dorms. All beds made up; no bunks. Large kitchen, spacious lounge, log fire, outdoor garden/courtyard with BBQ, underfloor heating, sunny decks, great views, relaxed friendly atmosphere.

More personable than most YHA properties
Stayed in a private double room with en-suite in May 2007. The room was clean and comfortable, good value for budget travelers. Common spaces were pretty ordinary. It is an easy five- to eight-minute walk to the hot springs and shops, and there is ample parking. The owners/managers were friendly and available to help. This was certainly the most personable (and smallest) YHA property we stayed at in New Zealand.
