Description
‘Costa de la Lux Eco Backpackers’ is aimed at travelers who want a break from the constant sight seeing hassle and expense of the city. We are between some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain and in our opinion the most beautiful white village of ‘Vejer de la Frontera.’ We offer bunks in shared rooms of 4 and have a maximum capacity of just 12.
We offer a small plunge pool to escape the heat, bikes (deposit needed) to explore the beaches and local area and a relaxed environment. We are 45 minutes to an hour from Cadiz by bus, (ask for the bus to Vejer or La Barca de Vejer.) and we offer a free pick up service from Vejer (must be pre-arranged at least 24 hrs before, minimum 3 nights or 5 euros for 1 or 2 night stay.)
Our hostel is unique in that we are trying to promote green energy and so it is run almost entirely on solar and wind power! There is a shared kitchen and living area. However, the best thing about the hostel is the local area. We are 1 km away from a natural pine forest park (La Breña de Barbate) and 5km from at least 5 amazing beaches (including Spain’s best surf spot, El Palmar.)
Vejer de la Frontera is a 3km bike ride away; here you will find everything you would hope for in a Spanish village. Beautiful shining white houses perched on the top of a hill, Moorish castle and a maze of white washed streets to get lost in!
We welcome everybody who is interested in country living but please don’t book if you are expecting wild parties and bars and shops on you doorstep! We are a non-smoking backpackers.

| Location | We would advise you to ring us for free pick up. 24 hours notice needed (min 3 day stay) However if you fancy a walk..... From the N340 take the turning to Vejer de la Frontera. (if you are coming from Tarifa it´s the 2nd turning on the left. If you are coming from Conil it´s the 1st turning on the right). Upon entering Vejer take the 2nd turning on the right which will take you up a steeper hill. Keep going until you pass a supermarket called Supersol. Take the road right opposite Supersol and continue up until you can see some electricity producing windmills. At the junction turn right down a track past "Cortijo Buenavista" and down 1km passing a well with a hand pump on your left. Continue on this track for another 1.5km then fork left where you see some concrete well rings and a red/brown post box follow the bumpy farm track 500m down a dip until you reach Costa de la luz eco backpackers on your left.
