5 Great hostel!
This is a fantastic new hostel just five minutes' walk from Cable Beach! Rooms are light and airy and have a ceiling fan as well as automatic Air Con. Breakfast is included in the price although I'd hardly call it a continental breakfast -- toast, cereal, coffee, and tea! On site you have access to a fully licensed bar, vehicle hire, tour bookings, a gift shop, a small convenience shop, Global Gossip internet ($6 per hour!), a lovely swimming pool, and a TV room with DVDs to hire. I was in a five-bed girls dorm which cost $35 per night (July '08). Friends were in a twin with TV and en-suite for $170 per night so it's not the cheapest hostel in the world but you aren't being ripped off when you stay here! Takes about ten minutes to get into the centre of Broome on the bus that stops just down the road from the hostel. Definitely recommend this place. I was a bit concerned that it wasn't within walking distance of the town center but, in hindsight, i'm glad I was nearer to Cable Beach! To make this hostel perfect it would be nice if they had a courtesy bus to the airport. Taxi on my own was $17!

5 Where to start with Beaches, obviously it has an advantage over the other hostels in Broome due to it only being six weeks old. This means all the facilities are brand spanking new and therefore clean! The hostel is five minutes walk from the beach although the atmosphere is so relaxing people generally don't even get that far, choosing instead to laze by the pool or read in the comfortable sofa chairs situated around the hostel. Be careful though if you have come to Broome to work you quite easily slip into holiday mode here and of course the rent is higher than most! The rooms are beautiful with comfortable springy mattresses and excellent duvet covers with crisp white sheets. The rooms are cleaned daily as are the bathrooms which are beautifully designed, the only down point are the showers which don't even trickle out but just produce a light mist that you have to somehow shower under. The single and double bedrooms are absolute luxury with ensuite but you have to pay some serious dollar for it. The dorm rooms are great except for the eight bed dorms which are the same size as the three beds so you can imagine there is very little space for everyones luggage. There are boxes to lock valuables away in uder each bed but they are badly designed and difficult to get into especially with the space constrictions. The TV and internet room are state of the art with a huge flat screen TV and selection of recent and classic DVDs for a small price, and flat screen monitors with webcam and headphones available. The internet is more pricey than town here but compters are always available and the room is air conditioned and extremely comfortable. The hostel does have a bar, but it is more to cater for a quick beer with your meal or predrinks before heading to town and they also sell a small selection of pies and overpriced toasties. The kitchen is absolutely fantastic, drawers are provided to keep dry foods in which are a brilliant idea and keeps the kitchen looking tidy, and there are qample facilities all of which are emaculately clean.
