Sharalumi is a well-run hostel which achieves a distinctive African safari feel, despite being in the middle of a city. The house is typically suburban, but neat touches like the thatched pool and bar area give it a fun, vibey and fresh feel.
The staff are attentive and take care of you right through your stay and it seems pretty difficult to remain unnoticed and left out. Lounge facilities include satellite television, videos, books, and a wide range of local travel information and brochures. The kitchen has all the standard amenities, including basic foodstuffs, and a morning breakfast is provided.
The bedrooms have the heavy timber feel of a safari lodge, and lockable trunks ensure you sleep with safety fears at rest. The bathrooms are separated for guys and girls and are generally clean.
The backyard will be a pleasant surprise for European travellers, with a spacious lawn, pool, and covered bar area beckoning you to chill with newly found friends. The city buzz keeps the banter going till late.

The leafy Hatfield suburb area where the hostel is located is popular for students and a few minutes walk will take you to malls, bars, and restaurants.
