Simply amazing wow. what a beautiful place. perfectly situated right on the beach with nothing on either side. i've been twice and will definitely make a trip there for a few days whenever in the area again. oh the lack of memories thanks to all the boozed up craziness! mad fun indeed!

Stayed at Wild Side, Buffalo bay in 1999 and went back in 2000 after seeing the new year in in cape town. A long way from family, this is the nearest you could feel to home. Beautiful location, special people. A time in life that will always be reflected on as a very special chapter in life that will be always remembered as the best part of several months away. Simply magical. The most amazing sunrises/sunsets. I know, I did three days of them without sleep! All that was needed was good company, which here was no problem, castle larger, my mix tape, grand BBQ, and a bodyboard for sunrise to blow off the headache! at sunrise! Do it, enjoy it. Climb the dune at the back at sun set with a bottle of red and good company and look out for the dolphins. Its all good! Enjoy!

visited Simon's and Amanda's place back in 2000 and stayed for about two weeks. Now receiving text messages of friends who stay there at the moment and it brings back great memories! One of the best if it comes to food, atmosphere, and friendliness. Great to hear it's still alive and thinking of visiting again.

I absolutely loved it. For around $10 US in 2003, I was able to get a bed in a shared room and get fed. They were selling beers for around 75 cents american and they had a beer funnel. The only thing between you and a gorgeous, pristine beach was a single sand dune.

I'm Brazilian, and I've been there in 2004, I'm looking forward to go back! Best hostel ever! Cool staff and great visitors! Drinking is just a game! Thank you for the hospitality, guys! Hope to see you again soon!

Heaven on earth!!! Step out the front door and you are in the sand dunes, next to the Braai smelling the fish cooking and supping on a cold Windhoek Lager. In the right season you can watch the whales play close to shore and the dolphins swim right on by. Walk a short distance and you have an array of swimming holes and fishing spots. Always something happening. I came for two nights ended up staying for a fortnight!!

CHOICE!! This is a great place to stop for a few nights on your way up or down the coast. It has very nice beaches all around – and the best rock pools I have ever seen. These guys are big drinkers so watch out – it's like University all over again, so you best be up for it. I had a good time here.

A quirky place seemingly in the middle of nowhere, it has the feel of being put together out of driftwood and found objects. Despite its size it has a cozy feel, enhanced by the huge fireplace in the main living area. We were there over Easter, and one of the highlights of our stay was the staff organizing an Easter Egg hunt on the beach for clients to enjoy. This place is run by people who actually care about their clients, seeing them as people rather than merely a source of income. I can thoroughly recommend it.
