Eastgate is a small hostel on a street in what can be considered the shopping district of Inverness. (Inverness is small and everyone knows everyone there. Everything closes at 5 p.m. as well, be warned.) The hostel didn't look very clean at first sight but it actually is. The employees clean every day and even sanitize the silverware every once in a while. The staff are great, especially Kylie. There is a small garden out back (ask where it is, the sign is easy to miss) where you can smoke, but make sure the doors are propped open because they will lock behind you. The beds are comfy and the bedsheets are washed between each guest. — Anonymous , U.S.A. (2007-03-29) This is for sure the BEST hostel in Scotland, it is so much fun to stay at and the staff are super friendly and cool!!! There was lots of hot water and showers, free tea and coffee, you get a high view of a quaint quiet street, and it's a hop away from pubs and good food. It also had really comfortable beds, which is always a bonus!! I recommend renting their bikes and going up the Ness island trails.
