2 Awkward and overpriced
If you dont mind sharing a place with strangers, who happen to be the owners, I wouldnt recommend. Though this hostel (i would call it a cheap B&B without the Breakfast) is clean and comfortable, every common room is shared with the owners of the place. We ended up cooking in the kitchen with the owners, a nice enough couple, and their two dogs, which are left to wander the house at their leisure. Ended up retreating to a pub just to get away. Most awkward and uncomfortable (psychologically!) hostel of four months of travel to date!

1 False advertising and feel cheated
If you are a couple and want a double room, you will not be staying at the hostel -- instead you are driven to an airless, windowless, stuffy box -- nowhere to sit, no common room, no kitchen, and a box of stale muesli and bad quality coffee is your "B&B." If they had been honest and told me that in the first place, I would have looked around for other B&Bs to compare -- at $40 room it was the pits. The owner seemed fed up and said they dont want to run a hostel anymore -- it's more money running B&Bs -- so much for the advertised fabulous nature of the hostel. she couldnt care less about the people and we felt treated like shite.

4 This is a great hostel, the staff are very helpful, the kitchen is well equipped, and the place is kept very clean. the price seems to have gone up since I was there in Aug. '06 it was only £11 then so quite a big rise. the only thing I would say that was wrong when I was at this Hostel was that the drying room was full of the owners' old junk and I could not get all my wet clothes in there. I would say that this is one of the best hostel in the Highlands and I plan to stay here again, it would have got five stars had the drying room been ok.
