Friendliest hostel I have stayed at twenty-four hostels over the past year and this was the most homey and friendliest hostel that i have ever stayed at. Both the staff and the guests were great. Many of the guests were long term residents so there was a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. But there were no cliques. Only friendly people. There was just the right mix of long term residents and travelers like myself. The owner Miss B was a nice woman and i saw her cleaning the hostel very thoroughly when i came by around noon the second day. She took pride in her hostel. Her assistant Sarah [i think that was her name] was also very nice as well, as was Sarah's husband who provided me with information about buses and places to walk around in Nottingham. The rooms were clean and comfortable. And i liked the fact that they had free internet [very rare in hostels nowadays]. Nottingham itself isn't much of a tourist city. That's why i liked it. There was no one "spectacular" building. But overall it was a very pleasant city with very nice architecture [and best of all, almost no tourists]. It was great to walk around. If you want to see an ordinary British town and meet some everyday British people i would highly recommend this hostel. My only regret is that i could only stay two days. I honestly did not want to leave. If i ever return to visit the Uk i will go back to the Igloo Hostel and use it as a base to see the surrounding area. — PETE FROM BALTIMORE , USA (2009-10-28)

Home from home Very friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere, spotlessly clean bathrooms and kitchen. free internet, games room with pool table, ps2, music, entertaining guests, never a dull moment. I have stopped at other hostels in nottingham and this is the only one worth writing a review about. — Chris , U.K. (2008-07-30)

Very nice hostel Very nice stay, friendly staff, nice big kitchen, and great location. Of the three hostels in Nottingham I thought this was the best. The staff helped us with things to do in Nottingham and area. a couple of days is not really enough. The rooms are nice and clean as are all common areas. I would rate this hostel as very good. A perfect place to stay when visiting Nottingham. — Tim , USA (2008-06-16)

Better than expected. I have to say it was one of the friendliest that i have been to in some time. The staff were fantastic and made you feel very welcome indeed. The beds were decent enough and the kitchen was always clean. There was free tea and coffee and people made an effort to be friendly too. My only gripe was the 3 O'clock curfew, which wasn't necessary. — CARL BUCKLE , UK (2008-05-22)
Within handy walking distance from the city center, this very simple hostel offers little besides a bed and a decently clean bathroom (well, a friendly staff should be acknowledged too). Not a single hook for clothes in a room for eight occupants (or was it ten?) suggests that this is not a great stay after a humid and cold autumn evening out. — A. (2005-11-27)
The Igloo is the most horrible place I have ever stayed. Everybody who is sensitive to smells should not book this hostel. Free car parking is provided if that means you have to park your car on the street and pay 130 £ to the police to get your car out of the car pound. — Anonymous (2004-06-09)

Very cheap and cheerful... a great place to stay if you just want to get your head down after a night out. The bed linen and amenities are clean, and the people are friendly, what more can you ask for for the price you pay. — Anonymous (2004-03-08)
