Glad to have stayed!
My train arrived at 11 p.m. on a July evening. I've tried three other hostels and they were all full. Then I tried Cosmos and they got one bed left in a six-bed dorm so I gladly took it. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room is quite basic. It does have a basin so that's good. I didn't count but there doesn't seem like many bathrooms and showers, so I imagine there could be times when one has to wait. Since I got up early the next morning (to catch a flight), I didn't have to wait to use the shower. I had to leave before 8 a.m., so I didn't get to try breakfast. The staircase leading up to the reception area and my room is very narrow, which makes it a little though if you have a bigger size luggage (the staff did offer to help to take it to my room). Overall, I'm glad they had that one bed for me that night!

Great little hostel in the heart of Amsterdam
Great little hostel in the heart of Amsterdam. The location is awesome, as is the character. The staff are helpful and friendly as are the travelers we've met there. Good atmosphere. However if you are seriously allergic to cats be sure to take you allergy meds before you arrive or book somewhere else, even the helpful staff warn you about this.

This hostel was relaxing! the staff were really friendly and went out of there way to tell us all the hotspots when we got there late at night. the stairs are a bit tricky especially after being out in "cafe's" all night -- only thirty people max which is good cause it creates a close atmosphere and really chilled out. pity we could only stay one night, would definitely go again.

I had an excellent time there! Great staff and really good atmosphere. There is a kind cat that is always walking around the building and you can see as many movies as you wish! By the way they have a nice breakfast in the morning, for free!

This is the worst hostel ever — and I didn't even stay here. I made a reservation, and called to cancel, and they told me I couldn't cancel, or they would charge my credit card. I told them, fine, I would come, and then when I arrived that night, they gave away my room. I asked the guy for help and he was such a jerk and kept yelling at me "This is a business, you're trying to play me." After he told me to go sleep on the street, he also yelled "F- you." I was not rude or mean, I was trying to be really nice, but he was not being waved. NEVER EVER stay here. Staff are VERY RUDE!

This was my favorite hostel during my travels! The staff are awesome. The rooms are a bit small, and there aren't many showers, but that wasn't a problem. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff had really good advice on fun things to do. The cat could be a problem if you are allergic to cats, but I thought having a resident cat was freaking awesome! I would definitely come back!

I thought this hostel was perfect for my trip to Amsterdam. Excellent location, comfortable beds, and a really nice staff. I definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Amsterdam. Ps. If the staff found a camera in room 13 please e-mail me at rfilomio@hotmail.com

There was a rather large piece of stuff that looked like earwax stuck to the underneath of the top bunk. I was on the lower bunk so I had to sleep with that for five days. It was a ROACH motel.

The beds here are terrible!!! I got bitten by bedbugs and was itching and aching all of my stay! I'm not a fussy traveler; I always stay in hostels and think they are great. But this was the worst I have ever stayed in!!! TERRIBLE!!

I stayed at Cosmos six months ago. I still have scars from my bed bug bites.

Unclean, unprofessional staff, unsafe. I was attacked by bed bugs as well. Never stayed in such a bad place and I have been backpacking for 3 months.

Small rooms, one shower per floor, the dorm door didn't lock, and to top it all off, I got a bad case of bed bug bites. And there is no planet theme... I was very disappointed.
