The Brothy Hostel has a cheery atmosphere. Very relaxed and clean. There is access to the roof for a nice view of the city and comfortable furniture and hammocks to enjoy the private space above the chaos of the city. The owners are personable, and since they were former tour guides, they are very knowledgeable about everything to do in the area and beyond. A great bargain for the price and very close to the city center.

Excellent place in Arequipa. I spent about over a month there in 2006. Went for a few days and ended up staying a few weeks instead. The owners are young, friendly Peruvians and tend to the place and guests with both care and cheer. There's are hammocks up above where I used to nap, and the younger brother of the three will take you out on the town if you're looking for some fun. If it's quiet you want, you can get that, too. Do check it out.
