The hostel itself is excellent. Our room was huge and without bunk beds. Real linen was provided, including duvet covers for the comforters. The kitchen is fully equipped and the staff are cool about letting you hang out and cook even after you have checked out.
Although there is a printed curfew on the door, it turns out that this rule applies only to teenagers that come and stay there on school trips and not to backpackers such as yourself. One only needs to knock on the window to gain entry after midnight. The only downside of this place is that the staff speaks almost no English, so you'll have play charades if you don't speak Lithuanian or Russian. But, if you are able to communicate your needs (I had no problem since I speak Russian), you will find them very willing to do what they can to help you. Another aspect is that there doesn't seem to be a huge backapcker crowd here, so you aren't likely to meet other travelers, but this could be positive or negative depending on your outlook.
