So great. We had a nice time! — Cindy and Micha , Germany (2009-08-11) Best Hostel in Ireland First of all, this hostel is clean (which can't be said of many Irish hostels)! The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the manager goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome! They're helpful, and the rooms are clean. The bVreakfast in the garden is the best way to start your day. — Anonymous (2004-04-15) A cosy, homely hostel with friendly and helpful staff I first arrived at this hostel in 1999 with the intention of staying for a week to rest my feet. I enjoyed myself so much that this week turned into a month. Since then Kirwan House has been my second home as I have lived and worked there for the last three years. I have travelled for the last six years and this hostel is one of my favourite places. I spent many happy months in Wexford over the three years, and made some of my best friends there. I also noticed just how others arrived in Kirwan House and found it difficult to drag themselves away. All manner of people stayed there, from backpackers to small families with children. Kirwan House always attracts an eclectic crowd, and some extremely memorable and colourful characters. I watched the guestbook fill up with complimentary messages from many a satisfied guest. Many would come back. But one girl summed up Kirwan House and its staff perfectly. She called it the Kirwan House Big Family. And how right she was. — Ian , UK (2004-03-30)
