The Hostelz.com Review
Home Dome is a very big hostel -- it has two wings of twelve floors each and six or seven bedrooms per floor (each with one to five beds), plus two elevators per wing. We had a single room, and for us it was ok.

The Location

The location is good enough, it's a nice neighbourhood five blocks from the Place de Jaude, but far away from the train station. The train station is not close to downtown, so you must take a bus to get anywhere.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The price is the same for every bedroom. Rooms are clean and the sheets are also clean. Our room had a desk where you can put a laptop or papers and you can work or study. Every room has an en-suite bathroom, which is clean, although not cleaned everyday (for us that is ok because we are the only ones using it). You have a shower (that you can use anytime you want) and a washbasin.

Common Spaces

There are eight computers and you can have internet access for free for one-and-a-half hours every day. The guy that works at that computer centre speaks English well and he is a great guy. There is a chill out room with a TV, a ping-pong table, some sofas, and a lot of books and magazines. This is a good place for meeting people -- there are people from all over the world! Most of them are students that go there for an exchange program between countries, so the average age is sixteen to twenty years old.

Breakfast is included in the price. You can have a big cup of coffee, chocolate, milk, espresso. You can eat bread (all you want) with butter and/or jam. Breakfast is served from 6:45 to 8:45 a.m. This place doesn´t have a kitchen for you to cook, it has a restaurant where you can get up to five different meals each day, and there is a different price depending on the length of your stay (short-term or resident). Lunch and dinner also have a two-hour restricted time to be served.

This hostel has a very good security system. It has cameras all over the place. There is always a person at the front desk. There is no curfew, but at night they close the doors (windows and sliding doors), and in case you are late, they press a button to open the doors for you. They give you a key to your bedroom, which you can take it with you. You can leave stuff in your room. Depending on how many people you are traveling with, you will most certainly get a room for your whole group together. In this hostel, alcohol and smoking are forbidden.

Summary

This hostel is ok. There may be a minimum of five nights to get a room. There are four or five different people at reception -- two of them speak English (not so fluently), and the other one doesn´t even try. But they are all helpful when you try to explain what you need.

3 Bit of an oddity
This isn't a backpackers/youth hostel as such. It is a tower block with flats which appear to be for students or workers staying for extended periods. Still, there was no problem with us staying there just for the one night.
