The Hostelz.com Review
Simplemente Mendoza is a quiet, simple, and friendly hostel in Mendoza. It is far better value than most of the Mendoza hostels and has all you need for a comfortable stay.
The Location
The hostel is located in a good area of Mendoza about a ten-minute walk from the main square. It isn't in the area where most of the nightlife and restaurants are but you can walk there (apparently safe to do even at night) or take a short taxi ride. There is a supermarket just down the road from the hostel too. You can take a taxi from the bus station or it is about a twenty-minute walk down Colon/Zapata (ensure you have your bearings before leaving the bus station -- you should cross a canal after about five minutes).
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are sparsely furnished but comfortable, there are privates as well as dorms available. The bathrooms are clean and well kept and the showers are good -- there is a bath as well.
Common Spaces
There is a TV room with couches and a computer with internet access as well as Wi-Fi. The kitchen has all the basics you'll need and is clean, there is also a small table and chairs to eat at in the kitchen. A breakfast of typical Argentinian croissants is included -- it's not a bad breakfast, but it only arrives at 9 in the morning, so if you have to catch a bus or tour before that you'll miss out.
Summary
This is a quiet and relaxing place to stay while enjoying Argentina's wine region -- the price can't be beaten in Mendoza. The location is not bad, although it isn't in the nightlife area of town like some of the others. The owners are helpful and can give you information about the surrounding areas and some tours (the Lujan wine region is a recommended alternative to the better known Maipu area).
