The Hostelz.com Review
It may be a Hostel With No Name, but it has loads of character. This converted apartment will probably remind you of a sixties hang-out joint with psychedelic, tie-dye-style posters on the walls; a large Turkish water-pipe in the corner for general use; and various musical instruments like bongo drums and guitars lying in the lounge waiting for the hostel to get together for a jam session -- which happens quite regularly.

The owners definitely make you feel welcome and at home here and there aren't any full-time staff so if it's the quiet season you could have the whole apartment to yourself. There is a choice of a cosy, private double room or two small dormitories (four- and five-bed, mixed), the one having a loft-type bed if you fancy nesting up high. They have free internet and a kitchen cupboard stashed with all the basics (pasta and tea) which are free for all. The kitchen is small but has all the basic necessities.

The location is great, it's in the centre of the old town and the apartment is down a quaint cobbled street. The building is in good condition and the hostel is kept in a generally clean state, but not spotless. Generally this is a good hostel for chilling out, so if you are looking for a hectic party place it won't really be here (though there are loads of good clubs nearby).

Avoid!
This place is very poor, dirty, unsecure, and little more than a squatters house run by drifters. We were convinced to stay in the hostel by two travelers that we met along the way who had made reservations prior to their arrival in Tallin. A phone call was made and beds were confirmed for our group. When we arrived the only member of staff there had forgotten about four men that had checked into the place before he went out and had overbooked by four people. Due to the hour we had nowhere else to go and resorted to the following, two of our group doubled up in one bed, two male members of the group had to sleep on the sofas, and one guy had to sleep on the floor in the communal room. Regardless of this we were all charged full price and could not check out until 1 p.m. when the (incompetent) only staff member returned from his day out. Additionally there is only one shower for the entire hostel with no hot water and two toilets. the wiring would never meet health standard with plugs hanging off the walls above the beds. All i can say is we checked out ASAP and went to a hostel close by in an equally good location and for almost the same price. Here we got a decent shower and a good nights sleep without fear of people walking into the hostel and into our rooms. Avoid it at all costs!
