Hostelz.com's Review
Nomade Backpackers Hostel is located in Lima, on one of the main streets of the city, but more than ten minutes away from the city center. This hostel has spacious communal areas, but looks a little bit old and could be better kept. The hostel is big and there is free Wi-Fi in almost the entire building. There is a small courtyard with a really small pool -- just enough for two people to sit -- it's good when the weather is warm. There is a small breakfast included, with bread, jam, and coffee.

The Location

The hostel is located fifteen walking minutes from the city center. If you have the address, you will have to ask around to find the hostel, as there isn’t any sign or information about the location of the hostel -- even when you reach the hostel’s door you can’t be sure it’s the right place until you ring the bell. The city of Lima is big, so the most affordable way to travel is by bus, and nearby this hostel you have a bus stop that can take you to the city center and from there you can go everywhere. If you arrive by car, it will be hard to park it, but the parking is free.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The dorms have enough space for the number of people and the bunks are ok. The rooms are clean and well kept. If you have a bed near the door you can get Wi-Fi, but the quality isn’t as good as in the communal areas. The bathrooms are small but nice and they are enough for the amount of guests in the hostel. In the showers you will find hooks to hang your clothes and enough space for your things.

Common Spaces

The hostel’s common spaces are spacious, although the furniture gives the hostel a really old look. There is a TV room with sofas, an eating room big enough for all the guests, and a large living room with excellent Wi-Fi and computers to use. The worst communal area is the kitchen, thanks to the lack of some utensils; the room could also be better kept. The best part of the hostel is the small courtyard, perfect for the warmer days, where you can find a really small swimming pool (it's just enough for two people seated, and the hostel doesn’t keep it full with water all the time).

Summary

This is a nice hostel, but the spaces just look too old and could be better kept. The price-to-quality relation isn’t the best -- you can get city center hostels for the same price and with newer and better-kept facilities. Unfortunately the hostel staff is not great with helping you prepare the next steps in your journey through Peru; you will need to have some patience for finding someone who can explain to you what you can visit in the city and how to get there from the hostel. Be prepared, because when you arrive they will only accept money to pay for your room -- no credit or debit cards.

3   Not a bad place This hostel is located in Miraflores, but 10 minutes walking from the center of miraflores. The hostel is nice but some parts are a little bit old. The kitchen has all the utensils but could be better kept. It's an average hostel, and sometimes the price is too high for the standard.  , Portugal ()
