Description
We have been open since September 2006 and are continuing to renovate our space. We are currently working on the 2nd floor but will be moving up to the 3rd floor by October to renovate apartment style rooms for international students and work visa guests. We are centrally located with easy access to the University of Alberta, and the rest of downtown. We also have excellent bus connections to points throughout Edmonton from the hostel.

4 great staff and really liked the room set up - private washrooms for the room a big plus (although with 6 people, it does get a bit dirty after a day or two!) great location.. overall, recommended highly!   — Ian Anderson (2010-02-21) Hostelbookers

3 It was a decent price.   — Customer review (2009-09-20) Hostelbookers
3 Although the whole experience was ok since it was sorta conveniently located, some points listed were not always true. It stated that there was free Wi-fi but it turns out that the hostel doesn't have it, instead it turns out that the Wi-fi is from downstairs but unless you're at the pub itself, you can't get even a bit of a signal. Instead, the signal is from the hotel, The coast, which is next door and depending on where you sit in the lobby, you might not get a connection at all. Also, it was stated there will be hair-dryers but there wasn't, and I ended up having to buy my own. But overall, I guess the whole experience was ok, sometimes the magnet key cards didn't work so well but minus the no food/drinks in your rooms, the staff was pretty friendly.   — Customer review (2009-08-25) Hostelbookers
3 Location was directly downtown   — Customer review (2009-08-16) Hostelbookers
Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
5  Friendly and Accommodating Go Backpackers hostel in Edmonton really impressed me. The staff work hard to make the guests feel comfortable. Twenty-four/seven service at the front counter makes it a treat if you need info. They are knowledgeable and dependable. The rooms were clean. The location is perfectly close to transportation to get around to most of the city, and it's near the river valley where you can walk/ride on excellent trails. Good job staff!  , Canada ()
