HI - Ljubljana - Hostel Park

HI - Ljubljana - Hostel Park is located in the large hotel park. This gives the hostel a rather hotel-like feel as most of the facilities are shared, including twenty-four-hour reception, lobby, computers, and dining space.

The hostel is located in a quiet part of town, a short walk from the train/bus station and a short stroll across the river to the centre of town. The location is ideal for exploring most of the sites of Ljubljana. There is also parking available out the front.

Dorm rooms are clean and tidy and have a hotel room converted to hostel room feel. The rooms usually have two or four beds, a table, and private toilet or bathroom. The rooms are spacious. The bathrooms are small, but tidy. Card access is required to enter the rooms and privacy and security is good. Private rooms are available.

The hostel lacks common spaces -- all are shared with the hotel guests. The hostel lacks atmosphere and it is difficult to meet other travelers. We believe there are plans to change this and make a common space for the hostel. There is a breakfast area where a fairly good breakfast is served (cereal, breads, juice, hot drinks) and a small bar or cafe area. There are free computers in the lobby as well as wireless access. The reception also provides a luggage storage service.

Overall this is a clean, convenient place to stay, but it is not a fun, party hostel -- just a nice place to sleep for the night.
