Description
A happy and familiar atmosphere typifies the hostel at Salerno, an ancient but functional building located in the heart of the city. It is a place for a happy-go-lucky vacation but also a place where one can be exposed to culture. In fact, the hostel promotes many tourist events. Guests can participate in guided tours which are free, organized in the summer months to Pompei, Amalfi and Capri. But these places don't need any introduction, and are easily reached. The hostel also has bikes for you to use.

How is HI - Salerno Hostel rated on other websites?
Very good place to stay in Salerno and as a base for trips around Amalfi coast. Near to restaurants, Sita bus stop and to sea. Rooms facilities is basic, but enought. Breakfast very basic, each day that same, but good.

Not a bad hostel if you must visit Salerno. My tip is to go a little further north to Sorrento, far nicer and a lot more to do.
Think of this hostel like an old nunnery, this is what it looks and feels like.
The breakfast is extra and is very basic, its 50 50 whether its worth the money.

It is a youth hostel, located in a beautiful old convent. The Staff was friendly, the location clean.
My Bed was a little too old, therefore was a bit unconfortable.
I would come back.

Nice breakfast and people. Lots of street noise in our private room, less in the dorms. Very difficult to drive to, and quite a hike to parking or the train station.

I'm planning on going back to this hostel because I felt like home. It's close to a lot of nice (and cheap) places to eat and it's right in the historical city center. I had an amazing time there and wish to come back soon!

very nice place, big, well located, everybody was really helpful. Is not exactly what you expect for a "youth" hostel, at least not in spring. If you like a more quiet place, it s your choice
