This was definitely one of the best hostels we stayed in in Eastern Europe. The guys who set it up are Hungarians who spent the last few years working at the Hilton in Florida so they are super efficient and friendly. at one point someone pointed out that the hot water wasn't working (it was simply a question of switching on a boiler somewhere or something) and the owner looked genuinely upset -- 'Why didn't you tell me? This is not that kind of hostel where hot water doesn't work!' At the same time, they are aware that the needs of backpackers aren't necessarily the same as people who stay at the Hilton, and there's a great little kitchen, where, wonderfully, you can help yourself to filter coffee and hot chocolate at any time. The one problem with this place is that it's in a residential area, so you have to keep it down after about ten p.m., I think, but you can always go out onto the balcony. I would recommend this hostel to anyone, but I would say book in advance because it won't stay so hidden for long!

This place has only been open a month or so hence the lack of comments. in a year or so, if there's any justice, there will be hundreds of five-star ratings. We found it after being referred there by another (fully booked) hostel so to find this place by accident was amazing! In set-up, it's like a loft apartment with rooms, the kitchen and chill-out area downstairs and more rooms, the bathroom and terrace upstairs. This makes it feel like you're in your own home, free to roam around without feeling like you're intruding on anyone. The rooms are all spacious and, with it being new, all the fixtures and fittings are in perfect condition. It's very clean too. The bathroom may strike you as a little strange at first. there's two shower cubicles in the one room, with clear glass doors. we found this good fun but get in there early if you're a bit prudish! The balcony terrace is one of the best bits. it gives you gorgeous views over Budapest and is a lovely area to sit in, drink, and chat. There's a music school in the next building so you can sit out there and hear beautiful classical music. Although other buildings and homes being so close does mean you have to be quiet after ten p.m. if you're in the hostel, which is when you move out to the terrace! What else can i say?! Young, friendly staff who are always eager to hlep, free tea and coffee all day, really well-equipped kitchen, and free internet. One thing, the breakfast wasn't amazing when I was there. just bread, jam, and a cup of coffee really. But don't let that put you off. it's good enough for a hostel. Also, the hostel's on the top floor of a big building. the entrance hall's very dark but there is a light switich on the left wall as you go in. Don't stumble up the dark stairs as we did! Now, book yourself in!
