Dijembe Backapckers is a friendly hostel. They have a pool table, big screen TV, and lively bar. A jacuzzi on the upper deck has spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and forests. They also make a cozy bonfire at night.
The Location
This hostel is situated in the small village of Storms River, the heart of the adventure centre in this area that is surrounded by mountains, forests, rivers, and the ocean. There is no public transport to and from this village. The Baz bus stops at the backpackers, and from the backpackers it is an easy walk to the village, where you can find shops and adventure bookings.
Rooms and Bathrooms
They offer dorms; private, ensuite rooms; and private rooms with a double and two single beds with shared facilities. Even though most of the areas are clean, some look as though they could use a good cleaning or some paint.
Common Spaces
The communal kitchen is small but sufficient. The fridges seem too small. Outside is a big, old, wooden table and benches that give this place a farmlike feel. The house is surrounded by a big, grassy area, and has a net for volleyball, two hammocks, and some dogs and cats to keep you company. They have internet facilities and information about adventures in the area.

This is such a friendly hostel where you can relax and meet other travelers and share your adventure stories of the day. This place has a good vibe when there are a lot of people, but it can also be very quiet depending on the bookings. They offer bike rentals and horse riding trails in the forests. The village itself is a quiet place so there's not much to do after dark -- it's best to stay at your hostel.

Superb hostel, superb (and 100% safe) location (mountains within touching distance, ten-minute shuttle to highest bungee), superb staff (Brad's one cool bro!), and three lovely dogs -- one who loves playing bottletop football! Rooms are comfortable and well-styled and I wished I'd stayed there longer than two days and one night. Sharing a three-berth jacuzzi with four others, a glass of red wine under the South African stars was definitely a highlight of my journey.
