Adamotel is a good price and a great location. It's a short walk from Gloucester Road Station, which is in zone one of the tube, and will save you money on pricey London transport. It's also a nice walk to Kensington Gardens and onto Notting Hill. The area is close to shops, cafes, and pubs. There is a very large supermarket just at the end of the street.
The hostel is quite new and has really nice facilities. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and it's a good place to meet other travellers. The dorm beds are not bunk beds, which means the rooms have a lot of floor space per person. The beds are not the comfiest, but they do the job. Every room also has a sink. The rooms are cleaned daily and sheets and towels are provided free of charge. The toilets are also clean and are joined with the showers. Some of the bathrooms also have baths, which is a very pleasant change from the endless showers you come across whilst backpacking.
The kitchen is very small and some guests seem too lazy to clean up after themselves. There is a dishwasher, but when it is full and not clean, there are very few dishes left in the kitchen. There is a nice bright dining area with plenty of space, and breakfast is also free. There is a good selection of cereals, toast and juice. There is also a really nice courtyard for when the weather is nice. The lounge room is comfy and clean with a great flat screen TV. The staff will put on a movie on request which can make for a nice relaxing evening. There is a computer with free internet as well as free wireless connection.
At the time of staying, there were some renovations occurring that caused temporary interruptions to hot water and power on some floors. However it was usually short lasting and not a major inconvenience.
