4  Love this hostel. It was very laid back and literally a hop-skip and jump to the ocean. During the hot seasons there are plenty of food and drinks on the street to satisfy your appetite. Sure there is a red light district on the way to the shops but, hey, that's the diverse life of China. Awesome street food! Even the hostel has a BBQ at nights with a movie on show.  , New Zealander ()
4  We got off the ferry from Dalian and tried to point a taxi driver to get to the hostel. It's about 15km from the ferry terminal. It pays to have good directions and THE address to this place. Even the taxi driver seemed skeptical. Ok, the hostel is in a good location. 200m from Golden beach. The hostel is clean and professionally run. When we were there in July 11-15 2006 there were alfresco places to dine and the hostel even put on an outdoor movie every night. Where the hostel is located may be just a beach -- but it's only a bus ride away from downtown, so don't get too depressed. For us -- the beach was family oriented (read no waves) and great place for kids to play. Just be aware that the road that leads to the hostel is in the middle of the ‘red light' district. But don't let that put you off.  ()
