Very good, modern, and clean hostel
I stayed at this hostel twice, in 2006 and 2007. It's a very good hostel, it's very modern (it was built in 2005) and the rooms are very clean. Breakfast is ok, you have to queue up if you arrive at peak hours, but the queue doesn't take too much! The staff is friendly, they speak English quite well. At this hostel, you'll find people of a lot of nationalities and this is a positive feature, in my opinion. The hostel is not in the city centre, but it's well linked by metro (Maria Cristina stop). You have your personal locker, with your personal key and lockers are big enough to put a backpack inside (not every hostel has them!). I think Pere Tarres Hostel is a good value when staying in Barcelona.

Modern hostel. Close to the Sants station but far from la rambla and the city center. You must be out of the rooms from 10am to 2pm for cleaning. So if you want to go to barcelona to party in la rambla and wake up late don't go there.

The hostel is great! Clean, spacious, safe — you get a key to the locker next to your bed. In each room there is a shower and toilet. When you check in you get your linen, and breakfast is included in a price. It is easy to get to know other people so I would recommend it to all solo travelers. Besides that, they also have free Internet access. It takes you around 15 minutes by Metro to get to the center.
