The Youth Hostel is great located, near the lake and right in the centre of Riva del Garda. Here lake and mountain make spectacular pictures into the mediterranean vegetation: a real paradise for nature's and relax lovers and for all passionates of many sports.
The Riva del Garda's YHA Youth Hostel "Benacus" is today pleasant and up-to-date. Variously sized rooms, from two to eight bedded rooms plus one large dorm, with bunk beds and mostly shared WC and showers, for a 120 beds overall capacity. Blankets and sheets for the bed are provided (for all who are staying only one night an extra rate of Euro 2,-). No towels. WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY. Restaurant, reception hall with one pc for free of charge internet access and token washing machine, underground little home cinema. Phone and internet connection socket in each room. Private courtyard with some parking lots.

CHECK-IN: 15:00 - 22:00 (possibly reduced schedule)
CHECK-OUT: 7:00 - 9:00
Cleaning 10:00 - 15:00: WC and showers are kept closed and guests are asked not to stay in the Youth Hostel.
No curfew, it is possible to get the main entrance's code.
Youth Hostel's guests are kindly asked TO OBSERVE NIGHT SILENCE - NOT TO SMOKE IN THE ROOMS - NOT TO DRINK ALCOHOL.

PROS: Staff was excellent, helpful and social. Hostel is practical and works.
CONS: Hostel needs a bar where people can take couple of beers and chat.
It was bit noisy in there because Hostel is in the middle of the central.

The hostel was great, not sure if there was a lounge room or not but I couldn't find it. Sometimes you just need a comfy and soft carpeted and warm area to rest those weary legs.
The breakfast wasn't great either. Especially if your staying there for more than 2 nights. It was obviously a very fuss free breakfast for the staff benefit. The old guy just stood and did nothing for the whole two hours of breakfast! He should be cooking eggs and bacon or doing something! Travellers won't mind paying 1 or 2 euros more if it included a descent feed in the morning.

Very good hostel, strategic position only 1 minute walking to the centre, running also 30 seconds, really clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, blankets and breakfast included in the priced.

i was realy pleased from the hostel. antonio was very nice, the location is great, in the center of beautyfull riva, and they have breakfast. i stayed by my self in the room, so didnt get much atmosphere, but it was really nice.

A very good location right in the centre of Riva. About five minutes walk from the bus station. Very helpful and friendly staff, who also let me use the internet for hours for only one euro. Clean rooms and very good toilet and washing facilities. Secure in the evening as you need a keycode to enter the main gates, and locks on the bedroom doors. Not a great deal to do in Riva itself though.

- check in is after 3 o'clock and 10am till 3pm it's unfortunately not possible to stay in the rooms

I spent two weeks travelling round Northern Italy, and this was the best hostel I stayed in. Very cheap rates, but clean and comfortable. Really helpful manager, who even did my laundry for me! (at a cost of 4 euros, but it was well worth it). Perfect location in the centre of Riva and the internet point is well priced.
