Homey and Friendly
This was one of the first hostels I ever stayed in, and is still one of my favorites. The owner and her family are very nice and are happy to help with anything. Since it is away from downtown but close to the lightrail station, it is nice if you want somewhere quiet that is still convenient to the rest of Minneapolis.

This is my first night in here. This is a really cool place. The house is clean and "new" on the inside, free internet access, and the girl who runs the place, Megan, is super nice and helpful. There is ample street parking and TV downstairs. I paid $35 for the private room which is $5 more than the dorm. Weird reception hours though, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., but that is due to Megan working in the morning. Still, I think you can contact her folks, who live nearby, if you want to check in early.

I stayed here for one night and it was a very pleasant experience. Clean room, clean bathroom, and the owners could not have been nicer. It's right in between the airport and downtown and only two blocks to the railstation. I would definitely stay here again next time I come to Minneapolis.
